Mitchell Aulds-Stier dedicates much of his time as a volunteer and member of the Carnegie Library for the community.
A Carnegie Library is a library that has been built with funds that were donated by Scottish business man Andrew Carnegie. During 1883 and 1929 there were 2509 Carnegie Libraries built throughout the world. Some of these are public libraries and some are part of university library systems.
There are 1687 Public libraries and 108 academic libraries throughout the United States.
Today the Carnegie libraries serve a a large part of the population, including Mitchell Aulds-Stier and his local community. The larger libraries have many functions that have developed over the years. Carnegie Library goes above and beyond the basic lending of books. It is now viewed as a catalyst to bring communities together.

Lending Books and Materials
The library offers thousands of items that can be borrowed.These can be from collections of books, DVDs, magazines, downloadable books, music, and movies. You are allowed to borrow up to 999 physical items at a time for a three week period. After that they must be renewed.
Computers and Printing
In the library you can gain access to the internet with computers and there is an affordable printing service. There is free Wi-Fi in the library. The PCs can be used for writing resumes and working on personal documents.
Classes are available at the Job and Career Education Center which allows access to Adobe Creative Suite. Card holding library members can use this program to assist with professional designs and projects.
There are also free computer classes covering basic topics such as Gmail, Microsoft Office, and career readiness.
There are computer labs available for children who can with the use of various programs learn to build robots, make movies, and write books .
Language Learning
There are a wide range of books available in other languages other than English. Not only do they provide books in different languages but the library also offers courses in language skills. As someone who loves travel and culture, Mitchell Aulds-Stier finds this to be an awesome feature.
Book Discussions and Author Visits
Throughout the year the staff holds group book discussions on newly released books as well the older traditional novels. Often authors are invited to discuss their writings and introduce new books .
Homework Help
The library offers help with subjects that students are having difficulty with. They can receive personalized help from tutors on a variety of subjects. And when your children have completed their home work there are plenty of fun activities and games that the library offers including the popular story time readings!
Small Business Guidance
The library provides assistance with information and resources available to small business start ups. There is data available on competitors, business planning and contacts .
Oliver Rooms
This is a special place in the library that collects ,stores and displays rare and old works of art and manuscripts. Arrangements can be made for tours of this historic area.
As can be seen from above, Carnegie Library is not only a place of books but is a vital technological link in the community. Mitchell Aulds-Stier is passionate about his volunteer work and experiences at the library and will continue to offer his help in the community for years to come.
